It is not good enough for me to dream and talk about dreams, I must turn those dreams into reality.  To this end I have searched all my life for the 1,2,3 step process for making something happen.  Here are the best steps I have researched over the years.

st Step: Vision:  A vision is a picture of what your dream will look like when it is finished.  If you dream of being a millionaire go ahead and paint a picture of what being a millionaire would look like for you.  What type of house will you own, what type of car will you drive, and what will your cashflow look like.

nd Step: Bet your Life:  Your life is made up of time and energy.  If you are not willing to exchange your time and energy for your dream, it will not happen.  Dreams do not come true, but they take a lot of work.

rd Step: Focus:  How many horses can you ride at once?  One not twelve, right?  The same is true of your dreams.   You must focus on your dream and let the other things go.

th Step:  Write it Down:  This is the step that separates those who want to talk about their dreams from those who want to do their dreams.  Get a blank book and write down your dreams as clear as possible.

th Step:  Strategy:  Now is the time to develop a one.. two.. three step process for getting from where you are to where you want to be.  You probably will not know all the steps, but you can write down the 1, 2, or 15 steps.  This is very important because it gives you a road map for getting to your dreams.

th Step:  Affirmation:  Once you have a picture of your dream and a plan for getting there, it is now time to set your conversations with yourself.  Too many of us say one thing in our minds and something contradictory in our hearts.  We say "I'm on a diet" then in the next breath we say "I can never loose weight on a diet."  The first statement is what we want to happen and the second is what we really believe.  We must change this.  It is important to be consistent in language we use and the conversations we have with others.  So write a one sentence statement of what you want to be true. (see article #3)  Instead of saying "I am on a diet. I can never loose weight on a diet." say "I weigh 160 lbs in a firm healthy body"  Repeat it once in the morning and once in the evening.  Therefore bring your heart and mind into sync.

th Step:  Persistence:   Persistence is more than just hanging on.  Persistence involves seeing where you are stuck and finding a way around the problem.  If you are remodeling your house and you don't know how to replace the kitchen cabinets, just hanging in there is not the answer.  You will be stuck there forever.  It is time to find an expert and learn the 1,2,3 steps around your problem.

th Step:  The final step of turning dreams into reality is to have faith.  Faith is believing in something you do not see.  A ship leaving New York harbor can not see it's final destination for  a full 99.9% of the journey.  But the captain has faith that he will reach his port of call if he persists in the right action.  The same is true of your dreams.  Like the captain you must have faith that your dreams will come true if you persist in doing the right things.

Follow Your Dreams they do come true.
